Meet the owner!
At a young age, Conner Fisher knew the outdoors is where he belonged. Hunting and fishing consumed more of his time than school. Conner began his firefighting career in 2018 as a habitat and wildland fuel technician. This allowed him the opportunity to work in several different habitats and fuel models all over Texas. He witnessed firsthand how fire behavior reacts in the different regions of Texas. This gained him valuable experience in preparing State Parks all over Texas for prescribed burns. Knowing how fire will react to an area helps determine what is needed to contain it. In 2021, Conner transitioned into a fish and wildlife technician. Educating the public on the importance of protecting natural resources and working alongside landowners to start their own environmental projects unlocked a new passion for him: private land conservation. Quickly he learned in a state like Texas, land is mostly privately owned. If he was to have the biggest environmental impact on the natural resources that he loved, he needed to help private landowners gain the confidence they need to pursue their own natural resource goals. So in 2026, Conner founded Lone Star Wildland Fire Management where he could use his passions for prescribed burning and private land conservation to help the wild places we all call home. His lifelong commitment to public service, safety, and being good stewards to what God has gifted us fuels his work everyday!
